i thought fullmetal alchemist deserved to be the #1 rated anime, and was doubtful of samurai champloo when it took #1 position instead, but i was wrong. samurai champloo is truly an extraodinary anime. i've never seen anything like it (of cos that was what i thought when i watched fma too) - from its sequence change, break scenes (one of a kind and different for every episodes!), storyline, drawings, music (very hip-hop and indie-chic) and character personalities, it is all truly unique and captivating. eventhough each episode tells of a different story, the characters' personalities and histories are told and built upon them indirectly nontheless. and the stories are all incredibly thoughtful, whilst being supremely hilarious at the same time (i love the rhino-bug pulling the stone and the funny music-making rappy guy!), with an ending that is so unpredictable. this is one anime i wish could go on forever, hence i wanted to take my time watching it instead of finishing everything in one blow (of cos i have to set time apart for studying as well ;p). i'm on episode 12 now... hope a second series can come out...!!!
and i love jin!!!!!! oh my god #11 about him was fantastic...!! and the funny expression he has when he was told his specs was worth a lot O_o`
