Hong Kong Trip Day 4

The last day was spent entirely on shopping! We had a good breakfast at Jordan, some famous Australian milk toast set and steamed egg pudding, and I spotted 2 fabric shops there just near the exit of the station (but didn't go!). My dad also managed to buy a purple suitcase - cos of my Sis of cos - for 250hkd.

After eating we went back to Mong Kok to drop off the suitcase before we headed to the outlets. My parents were too tired to go along so they decided to spend the day at Mong Kok instead (and boy was it the correct decision...)
We took about half an hour ride to the outlets and finally reached citygate station

There's a lot of branded goods store here like Burberry, Polo, Lancel (the 11,000+hkd bag I asked for), Espirit, Nike etc but the items were all so backdated...!! Burberry was quite a let downer TT. My bro bought a lt of jap food because there was a 1 for 1 sale, my Sis got an espirit top (probably pretty easy to get in Singapore too) and I bought 2 tops (that I realize could be used to buy like 6 tops in Mong Kok later on).
Ate an egg tart and some bread for pretty cheap and went back around 3 plus to our favorite spot.

Photobucket

Back at Mong Kok, we went to eat at a random self-acclaimed famous 车仔面 (well if it's famous it should be crowded! But it's not) and tasted their award winning 公仔面 (it's really something my mom can whip up) and wanton mee (this is not so bad there's like 3 huge prawns in every wanton, so it's actually a huge wanton).

Photobucket

Photobucket

Located along this district is all the petshops but we didn't really browser them in detail. Noticed they they had pretty kittens for sale though. And it seems that there's no stray cats here and more people rear dogs.

Photobucket

We shopped at the awesomely cheap 男人街 where more female products are actually sold, and at less than 1/3 the price at 女人街!! C'mon, TWO pairs of boots for 100hkd (<$20sgd)?!? You gotta be kidding me!! Even 1 pair for 70-100hkd was cheap enough. And I ended up buying 7 pairs. And some others as well heehee

(the picture includes 3 pairs of mom's, 1 pair of Sis and 1 pair of bro's, so guess where's mine lol)

The best shopping is actually at 新の城 - it's like far east in orchard but probably half as cheap and I really regretted coming here so late (like 7plus) - there's just not enough time to go all the 4-5 levels!!! We sort of chionged through them and grabbed all the bags, clothes, leggings that we laid eyes on and liked at first glance. It was quite tiring to haggle (you can cut about 30%) and when we reached the upper levels we totally stopped haggling cos it was so cheap and we were tired!!!

After we made all our purchases we went home to find our parents sleeping (1030+pm) and we asked if they wanted dessert, and they actually got up, changed and went to eat 许刘山 with us hahaha!!!

Tried to shop around a bit more via the shops that were still open (past 1130 then already) and we actually still managed to get stuff... (random things like pajamas, magazines and phone covers haha). We're really too powerful -.-|||

And after all the days of shopping my feet was so numb that it doesn't actually ache anymore!!! It was actually aching and tired since Sunday because of all the mountain climbing, but guess it grew tired of aching. And with all the late night sleeping (first day was 3am, thereafter 1-2am) I can honestly say Hk is not a place you should recuperate at... (ーー;)

and here's all my hk shoe loot (arranged them when i got back from hk). not all are mine but 80% is. lol

and all the foodie!

Hong Kong Day 3

In the morning we got to eat the local delicacy - dim sum!!

Photobucket

There was a very famous one just at Mong Kok, where a queue was already building when we reached and even before the shop was opened.

Photobucket

Photobucket

made fun of my bro since we were so bored

Photobucket

We waited for about an hour (reached too early) before we finally get to sit down and mass ordered almost everything they have. Their specialty is the golden fried char siew bao that I saw featured on TV and hence been wanting to eat since then!! And I ate 3 of them. Still pining for more now TT

Photobucket

Thereafter we headed to our first shopping area of the day at Central 中環, to walk around the 3 level H&M, which was sadly a waste of time because there's really nothing much to see or buy and they are over priced... Walked around a few nearby shops and spotted Cotton On, which I felt is almost like H&M since their clothes are all from either China or Bangladesh anyway. Also visited a few overpriced shops (clothes starting at a few 2k HKD Omg), with really unique styles though, as well as 兰桂坊, a night pubbing area. In the day though, its just another normal street...

In the end we all returned to Mong Kok to shop again!! And we drank Happy Lemon!! There was also a stall selling cold noodles, where you can choose the type of noodles and ingredients you want and they mix it all together in a type of sauce that's really very delicious! It's kind of like salad, but nicer taste. And we forgot to take a picture of it... TT

There was this Sports street that they had selling Nike, Adidas and the likes. Bought myself an Arnold Palmer and my Sis got 2 Nike jackets. Pretty normal pricing actually. We shopped there and 女人街 and went back around 630, where we got ready to head over to 星光大道 at 尖沙咀.

Photobucket

Photobucket

We reached quite early, around 715, so we took our time to take lots of photos while waiting for the laser show to start at 8pm
The show is amazing in a way because it made use of all the background pictures you see in the photo to make up different kinds of lightings according to the music. But because not all buildings participated, sometimes it's quite hard to actually spot the one that's changing lights. Still, it was quite an experience.

Photobucket

Photobucket

here's using my panorama application heehee

Photobucket

didn't manage to walk to the other end to look at these statues but my bro and carrine did

Photobucket

WATERRRR!

Photobucket

After this was over we went back Mong Kok to eat some more cold noodles and continue shopping!

Photobucket

Photobucket

cold noodles store.. yum!

Photobucket

there's happy lemon too 8D

Photobucket

we went to grab dinner - roasted goose. SUPER GOOD! but so faaaat.

Photobucket

Photobucket

We also managed to grab some 许刘山 dessert after shopping at the sports street, and it was really delicious..!!!!

Photobucket

Photobucket

Tomorrow was the last day and we went de using if we should spend it t Macau but everyone was too lazy and you had to be ready by like 7. Was also quite expensive to go, around 200+sgd per person... TT

Hong Kong Trip Day 2

Ate polo-yau for breakfast before we head off!!!

Photobucket

got a nice cozy corner for ourselves, heh

Photobucket

We then took a bus to ocean park and walked till our legs cramp climbing up and down the hill the whole day TT

Photobucket

Photobucket

have to take a cable car over from the main entrance (or you can walk 2 days lol)

Photobucket

Photobucket

we bought lots of photo souvenirs too. damn. so easy to bluff tourists...

Photobucket

first stop was some super big swing that goes 360degrees

Photobucket

then sat on a slow moving tower that goes to the top and comes down slowly. not much view actually...

Photobucket

Photobucket

then we went to look at some sleeping seals hahaha

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

The place is not that small but there's only a few worthy rides - the 2 roller coasters and the drop. We spent more of our time walking actually.

Photobucket

Photobucket

tada!

Photobucket

and their escalators are so bloody long you can snap lots of photos and pose for very long

Photobucket

Saw the dolphin show, which is quite touching for me because you can really feel the bond between the trainer and dolphin. The dolphins respond well and almost look like they adore the trainer, showering them with hugs and kisses and pushing them to swim through the waters and swimming in harmony with them. A real eye opener for me. And the seals were just too cute - they even do acrobatics like standing on 1 fin O.o wish I'd manage to capture the moment!!

Photobucket

Photobucket

bond between the trainers and the dolphins... <3

Photobucket

and they jump in synch!

Photobucket

also took this drop

Photobucket

but it's pretty normal. in the queue though this son was trying to persuade his mom not to take the drop and the mom finally gave in when it was almost their turn. amusing. mom looks 50-60+, son late 20s-30. haha.

Went to look at jelly fish too and got quite a lot of nice captures

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

my iphone is so powerful. wow.

some changing colors jellyfish. probably cos of the lighting though... this is taken by digicam

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

more strange thread-like jellyfishes

Photobucket

i like this hat!

Photobucket

After that we headed to the main entrance via a shuttle bus (the cable queues around 4-5pm is just crazy long..) and we finally got to the aquarium my sister has been pining for. Saw 2 very unique and pretty seahorses, so it was well worth it!
my bro's gf took so many nice pictures with her digicam so i'm gonna spam it all here 8D

Photobucket

Photobucket

i really like this seahorse!!!! looks like leaves...

Photobucket

Photobucket

and this one is so colorful. can't believe they are seahorses.

Photobucket

biggie stingray

Photobucket

yes we're looking at it from the bottom!

Photobucket

these are those fat legs juicy spider kanis

Photobucket

it's a shark!

Photobucket

Our last stop is at the panda place. The sleeping panda just looks like Tare panda...

Photobucket

Photobucket

and souvenir pandas!

Photobucket

I kind of feel sorry for the fishes and the panda actually because people kept taking photos of them WITH FLASH even though they were told not to and it's probably basic common sense and courtesy to do so. Oh well.

Took a couple more shots at the entrance before we left

Photobucket

and failed jump shots...

Photobucket

Headed to Causeway Bay and walked around for a bit.

Photobucket

Saw this! happy woman!

Photobucket

we were pretty hungry so we grabbed some streetside food

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

We met up with Karen, my sis's HK friend at Causeway Bay around 730pm and finally got to sit down and have a good meal after a whole day of walking...

tried to order as little as possible cos we were full after the snacks but the set meant for 4 person could feed 8...

Photobucket

We then headed home and actually slept early to prepare for another day of walking ahead!!
