140105 Yeosu Arrival

and my holidays finally began!

we woke up around 10+ to have breakfast. but out taxi wouldn't come, so we ended up having breakfast with jaebong, skasha, waky and mr gold before we headed off to the station, at a nearby bbq restaurant. had dwaengjang jjige (black bean soup) while the rest had galbi-tang though. jaebong was still pretty drunk and kept asking if we needed a ride to gyeonggi (which is like 6hrs drive). however, it seems that when we reached the bus terminal, we had already missed the early bus at 10am, and the next bus was at 2pm... (there was only 3 timings for our bus).

so we took a bus to suwon thinking to catch the train there. unfortunately, the train departing had no seats and will take 5 hrs to reach, so we were forced to take another route. there were 2 places we planned on going, and since the first one failed, we decided to go to a pc room and plan on where to move next.

we saw a couple fighting on our way, where the guy threw the girl's hp and it landed right in front of us. tempted to pick it up, but didn't. however where we left off, an uncle hurriedly took the phone away!! the guy shouted at the uncle, but since they were still in the middle of quarreling, neither chased after the uncle. wooot! free phone for the uncle! wow!

wanted to watch the drama somemore, but we should be heading our way soon too. thankfully there was a pc room just near the suwon station, and it was non-smoking! (you know how rare it is to find a non-smoking pc room...) we bought yeosu accomodation off timon, and went off to get our train tickets. since there was about 30mins before our train ride, we headed to the toast place to get some lunch before we go.

our ride was around 4pm eventually, and by the time we reached yeosu, it would be 9+pm. we had to stand for 2 hrs before we got seats.

we explored the place a bit, and there was a train cafe!

not only that, there's a private massage and karaoke room. whoa.

got to sit after a looooooong standing journey. and we finally got to yeosu~~

the bus uncle was nice enough to drop us near our hotel, even when his bus didn't actually go there. i realised the bus uncles here are all pretty friendly and nice!! beginning to like yeosu already.

our first night was at HS tourist hotel.

it was about 120k won per night, with breakfast and 2 railbike tickets included (that costs 15k). bed was huuuuge, i think it was meant for 3 people cos they had 3sets of disposable stuff there too.

went out to get dinner and explore a bit, but most of the places were already closed... from afar, the MVL looked like a shopping centre so we walked towards it.

turns out it was just a fancy hotel. oh well. there's a pavilion nearby that seems good for sunrise though.

in the end we settled our dinner at a convenience shop. bought some stuff that needed microwave, which we didn't have in the room, so we brought everything down again and ate it at the convenience store... haha.

the instant rice is really cool~~! see how it's made!

you put some hot water, than the seasonings. then you add in the rice.

put the sauce in then place in microwave for like 2-3mins.

and dinner's done! we even bought bokkeum kimchi, eggs and seaweed as sidedishes. too korean. hohoh. i actually prefer this kind of dinner, than a proper meal. lolol.

and that's the first night at yeosu~

140104 Namdaemon

for a few nights in a row, 00 had been trying to complete the fai knuckles for pion's shoot, and it was getting rather irritating because he hasn't been sleeping well, being up all night to work on it and sleeping as little as 2-3hrs a day. in the day he still has to tour around with me, in a sleepy state. i got so angry that i chased all of them out of the room and threatened to throw all his things because they had been spray painting in the house and breathing in the paint for the whole day.

how unhealthy is that!! and poisonous. and i think we'll all become stupid in no time, breathing in the air.

but above all i was just at a loss as to why someone would risk his health to create something for free, and whether the deal at the end was really worth it. makes me hate cosplay sometimes, the extreme people go to.

and so i was very relieved when the whole thing was done, and he's finally free of this burden that's been tormenting everyone. you can see all the hard work here.

later on when i did realise that i wasn't being very supportive throwing him out.. and not very understanding... i offered to help him with the last few paintings. though it didn't really help much since it was at a very late stage. and i guess even if he does want to wreck his own health... it's his happiness. quarreling wouldn't benefit either of us. and for some reason this picture always pains me T_T

so anyway we managed to drop this off in time for the shoot. the pictures turned out pretty well a few days later. you can see the cosplayer pion here. the rest of the pictures are uploaded in her album too.

well anyway the area where we dropped off the prop was supposed to be at hwaguk (country of flower). but it has no flowers to speak off even after walking around for some time, nothing to see at all! so we took a bus to namdaemon, since there was a direct bus over.

namdaemon, as you see is one long night market with lots of street eateries. we had a stick of some fried stuff here, where the uncle could speak lots of languages and played saxophone for us. so cute!

passed by a huge bowl of eel-like thingy. seeing them squeezed in altogether is kind of sad. they probably all know their fate...

and of cos, there's the southern gate here, as with all the 'mons' (dongdaemon, namdaemon...). but i realised later on that there was an accessory market that i missed. nooooo.....

for dinner, since we didn't eat much for the whole day (not hungry, strangely), we went to a pretty famous seafood buffet near namdaemon.

got the voucher off timon at about 30% off~

not a bad selection, for about $30/person.

there's even free wine, makgolli and beer! wine is not so good though.

with a good a full dinner, we set to head home for a loooooong nice rest.

140102 Pasha Turkish Cuisine

dear 00 realised that he had been neglecting to use a groupon-like site based in korea. it seems that it's possible to get cheap deals to jeju and other states, and stay in hotels for less than $50/night using this ticketmonster site!

so he bought a turkish set dinner off it and we headed off to gangnam to eat it. found the restaurant rather quickly, in a building with dingtaifung and there was even a yakun in the area!

the interiors are so nice! makes you feel like you're not in korea anymore! and the waiters/guests were all foreigners (or turkish, maybe). there's also an appetizer/dessert table for an additional 5k won, with a chocolate fondue.

nothing much to order since we bought a designated set already.

the first dish was a super bloated naan thingy. got a shock because it was so big!

but it turns out it was all airy inside and it soon deflated into a prata.

there was as strawberry and kiwi lassi served too. but strawberry tasted awful.

the meat with cheesy thingy and some green/red pepper was good, but the quantity is too little for 2 person. the sauce seems good for the naan though!

lastly we have the wraps to fill us up. it's nice!

there's also a waiting area near the toilet. makes you wanna just have a shoot there...

overall, the food is pretty good but quantity is too little. it costs about 34k won, when the usual price is over 60k. i wouldn't recommend going for the normal price, and even at 34k, it's much too expensive... guess you're paying for only the ambience after all.

so anyway right after dinner, we went to another dinner =_=

it was a gathering with jungu, and we both didn't know we were having bbq buffet. gg.

still, it was fun to see lopez, summer rabbit and jungu again. kyungmin also came along, and we all got treated by jungu. couldn't join the drinks after since mr 0 had to work on his stuff, so we went home early.

guess what, mr 0 still went to buy a bread after 2 dinners. he must be really hungry. and in the end, kyungmin slept till morning and helped little, when he was supposed to go over to help. zzzzzzzzzzz
